We live in the countryside and have regular power outtages due to the power company's neglect of their rural power lines so the buzzer is a serious problem. I've removed the Piezo Buzzer from half a dozen APC UPS over the years. I just bought a cyperpower 1500 from Costco which is a bit different so I was perusing YT to get tips on how to open it up and access the guts of it, and I came across this gem of a video with the most simple solution. Thank you so much for posting this, it's immensely appreciated.

You don't want teflon on a flared fitting. It can prevent you from tightening the connection completely and not forming a tight compression seal as it's designed. Even doping those connections isn't recommended as it can interfere with the compression seal and cause leaks. That is almost surely the problem and why it's leaking. Take all the teflon off the flared connections and reconnect it dry.

Yeah, that was great. Anyone have an idea why, when the power is out for an extended period, the unit keeps shutting off (something on the order of every hour or so.) There's no load on the unit except a fiber network interface device I just have to keep turning the unit back on.

I inadvertently canceled the Z wave signal of the entire connected system and without you I don't know if I would have been able to reinstall all the elements including the sirens on the central system. Yeah these Belkin Battery Backups are great for any electronic device even long after i left AT&T. Im having to go buy a new battery since mine just died. They output 12 volts up to 3 amps so as long as the device you're powering is 3 amps or less, it'll work great! I do find it interesting that you can open the unit at your own risk and change out the cable if your router or gateway uses a different shaped plug.
